I majored in Communication: media management, promotion, and sales at Illinois State University. After finding my calling on the internet while interning for an underground hip-hop blog, I took an internship my sophomore year at a local music venue. The internship soon transformed into a full-time position as a social media manager where I managed 5-10 interns each semester.
I balanced my position with a part-time job at Finish Line and with personal creative work, like photography and writing, and hobbies such as reading, fashion, and design. Eventually, I was hired by Fleet Feet in Chicago and moved into the city. This allowed me to graduate from social media specialist to the digital media manger while gaining tasks such as the newsletter, creative direction, photography, and more.
My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to identify the problem or need and create a solution using storytelling, consumer’s needs, and quality production.
